Zoom and OnLime

A practical guide to connecting Zoom to OnLime, using it for classes and attendance, and removing the integration safely.

What the integration does

OnLime uses an Account-managed Zoom app. Each teacher connects their own Zoom account as its owner or administrator and is also the licensed meeting host. OnLime can create and update scheduled class meetings, register eligible students, provide each student's authorized join link, and reconcile participation into attendance proposals. OnLime remains the system of record for courses, students, attendance decisions, reports, and points.

Connect Zoom

  1. Sign in to OnLime as a Teacher.
  2. Open Settings, then Integrations.
  3. Select Connect Zoom and sign in as the owner or administrator of your own Zoom account.
  4. Review Zoom's requested permissions and approve them.
  5. Return to OnLime and confirm the connection and attendance-readiness state.

The authorizing teacher must also be the licensed meeting host. A Basic account can connect but is not attendance-ready. Each teacher keeps an independent connection; connecting one school administrator to multiple member teachers is not supported. All requested OAuth scopes are required; there are no optional OAuth scopes.

Class and attendance behavior

Students do not authorize the Zoom app. OnLime checks Course enrollment and class eligibility before granting individual meeting access. It provisions meetings from Teacher Schedule, registers only eligible students, and shows students a simple Join class action. Signed Zoom events and final participant reports are reconciled before attendance is proposed. Uncertain, contradictory, or stale evidence is held for review; it is never silently converted into final attendance.

Troubleshooting

  • If OnLime says Zoom must be reconnected, reconnect from Settings → Integrations.
  • If the account is connected but not attendance-ready, confirm the Zoom plan shown in OnLime.
  • If class setup needs attention, keep the session in OnLime and contact support before recreating it in Zoom.
  • If attendance is under review, use the OnLime attendance evidence and correction workflow.

Disconnect or remove OnLime

To disconnect inside OnLime, open Teacher Settings → Integrations → Zoom and choose Disconnect. To remove the app from Zoom, open the Zoom App Marketplace, choose Manage → Added Apps, select OnLime, and choose Remove. Zoom then sends OnLime a signed deauthorization event.

Deauthorization deletes OAuth credentials, the connected Zoom profile, raw Zoom meeting and participant identifiers, join links, provider events, participant intervals, and normalized Zoom evidence. OnLime retains only the minimized final OnLime academic attendance result where required for legitimate educational records. That minimized result does not retain Zoom provider identifiers, provider source or channel, exact Zoom-derived join time, participation intervals, join URLs, participation notes, or raw or normalized Zoom event data. Removing OnLime does not delete the Zoom account itself.

Data access or deletion request

Email support@learnonlime.com from the address associated with the OnLime account. State that the request concerns Zoom data and identify the connected Teacher account. Never include an OAuth token or student join URL. OnLime will verify authority, complete the request, and explain any minimized final academic attendance record that must be retained for legitimate educational recordkeeping. Requests are handled by the OnLime sole operator based in Egypt; users may submit a request from Egypt or another country where they access OnLime.

Support contact

For integration help or a security concern, email support@learnonlime.com. Include the approximate time, Teacher account email, and class title if relevant, but do not include student personal data unless support asks for it through an approved channel.
